Hello everyone!

My name is Vladislava Synenko. I am Master prepared Family Nurse practitioner, graduate of Old Dominion University class of 2014. I am currently in a post master program to become dually certified as Family NP and Psychiatric Mental Health NP (FNP and PMHNP).

I live in Hampton Roads, Virginia. I am originally from Kyiv, Ukraine. I came to United States in 1997. I have cousin, her family and her adult children still in Kyiv and we worrying about them very much. I feel blessed and fortunate to be chosen to come to US and working to fulfill my mission of helping people. My callings are medicine, mental health, arts, music, and animals care.

I have a son who is computer science student at ODU. He is helping me at the office.

I became a nurse in 2002 and was working mostly in the long-term care settings, such as nursing homes and home health. I love working with elderly and enjoy addressing their health care needs.

When I became a nurse practitioner, I started working at intermediate care facility for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and dually diagnosed with psychiatric conditions (2015). I provided primary care services, treating acute and chronic health conditions in the psychiatric care settings. I worked with several great physicians and psychiatrists and was inspired to continue my education as PMHNP.

I have degree in music and one of my special interests is music production. Back in 90s, while in music college, I was active in the music scene in Kyiv, and met many musicians and artists that were suffering from substance use disorder and mental health illness. Unfortunately, almost everybody I knew, who continued using drugs, died. I realize that this is a world-wide problem and I want to make a difference. I have been involved with the local art community and music scene in Hampton Roads, and would like to offer help to anybody in the community who needs primary care, SUD treatment and, starting in 2025, mental health care.

Astral Health PLLC clinic is focusing on primary care services for adults 21+, for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, dually diagnosed as well as substance use disorder treatment for underserved population. I hope to add mental health services when I graduate from PMHNP program in 2025. My favorite topics in mental health are personality disorders, substance use disorder, relationships and life coaching. I also enjoy working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, self-injurious behaviors, bipolar and aggression. As a primary care provider, I enjoy treating acute and chronic health conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, skin disorders, liver disorders, obesity, dementia, and geriatric care.
